Mysie
British singer-songwriter and producer Mysie first began releasing music under her birth name, Lizbet Sempa, before reinventing herself with a new artistic identity in 2019. Raised in South London with Ugandan roots, she developed a genre-blurring sound that fuses alternative pop, electronic music, indie soul, and R&B, earning early acclaim with her debut EP Chapter 11 and the breakout single Rocking Chair. Her originality was recognized in 2020 when she became the inaugural recipient of the Ivor Novello Rising Star Award, cementing her reputation as one of the UK's most exciting emerging artists. Since then, Mysie has continued to push creative boundaries with projects including Undertones, joyride, and her debut mixtape CONTROLLA, embracing greater artistic independence by co-producing much of her own music. Blending influences from UK garage, house, indie, Afropop, and experimental electronic music, she has built a distinctive sonic identity while receiving support from BBC Radio 1, Apple Music, NME, The Independent, and The Guardian, establishing herself as one of the most innovative voices in contemporary British alternative pop.
