rum.gold
American singer-songwriter rum.gold (born Delonte Drumgold) has emerged as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary alternative R&B. Originally from Washington, D.C., and now based in Brooklyn, he first built an audience by uploading music to SoundCloud before releasing his debut EP, yaRn, in 2019. Drawing on influences ranging from jazz and gospel to neo-soul, his music is defined by ethereal vocals, intimate songwriting, and richly textured production, earning praise for its emotional depth and vulnerability. He continued to establish himself with the acclaimed EP aiMless (2020), featuring a standout collaboration with Jamila Woods, before releasing his debut album Thicker Than Water (2021), a deeply personal project inspired by his journey of reconnecting with his biological mother after discovering he had been adopted. His follow-up albums, U Street Anthology (2023) and Is There Anybody Home? (2026), further expanded his artistic vision by exploring themes of identity, family, Black culture, and inherited trauma.
